A Study of 2 - Amino Ethylthiouronium Bromide Treated E - Rosettes in Normal Controls and Cancer Patients

ABSTRACT

In attempt to evaluate the immune competence of cancer patients and the change of E-rosettes according to rosetting time and sex, 2-amino ethplthiouronium bromide(AET) treated E-rosettes had been studied in 66 normal controls and 114 patients with cancer. The results were as follows: 1. The mean of (AET) treated E;, rosettes was 24.3 +- 5.2%, Erosettes 78. 8+- 8.9%, and the E- E;, difference 54.2 +- 6.4% in normal controls. Women showed slightly higher value than men. 2. In patients with cancer the mean of AET treated rosettes were lower than that in normal controls. Men showed slightly higher value than women. 3. Patients with hematologic malignancy showed slightly higher value than patients with solid tumor. In patients with solid tumor with metastasis showed lowest value.
